Denise was cast to voice the video and radio ads for this ongoing and vital campaign.
Between 1951-1992, the Government of Canada ran the Indian Boarding Homes Program. It removed First Nation and Inuit children from their homes and communities and placed them in non-Indigenous communities to live in private homes to attend public schools.
This program significantly disrupted the lives of many families and communities.
The children were removed from their families. Many experienced a disconnection from their culture, losing touch with their Indigenous languages and way of life.
If this is your experience, or that of someone you know, compensation may be available.
The Indian Boarding Homes Class Action Settlement is a step toward acknowledging our shared past.
