From the co-creator of Reservation Dogs and producer Lebron James, Rez Ball. Denise Halfyard recently wrapped up voicing the described video for the visually impaired on this Netflix film. More and more productions are including those who are visually impaired or blind to be able to enjoy their programming and we're grateful that Netflix is conscientious enough to hire a REAL Indigenous voice for their Indigenous films and programs. Brent's quirky original song now has a quirky fun video to match! Denise Halfyard created this light hearted foot friendly video featuring Sugar the beach pup doing a hi five paw-to-foot! Enjoy!

Time Was is a very personal song written by Brent Halfyard and expresses the grief and acceptance of losing a loved one. He spent years toiling with the lyrics and was about to give up when he heard Marian Simmons singing and knew she was the voice for the song. This video is a culmination of Marian's editing skills and Brent's ideas and visuals to help tell this heartfelt story.

Denise was cast to voice the video and radio ads for this ongoing and vital campaign. Between 1951-1992, the Government of Canada ran the Indian Boarding Homes Program. It removed First Nation and Inuit children from their homes and communities and placed them in non-Indigenous communities to live in private homes to attend public schools.
 

 
This program significantly disrupted the lives of many families and communities. The children were removed from their families. Many experienced a disconnection from their culture, losing touch with their Indigenous languages and way of life. If this is your experience, or that of someone you know, compensation may be available.

Denise Halfyard performs a variety of engaging characters for the audiobook version of this Indigenous collection of short stories all connected for a gripping finale. Set in Canada’s far north, this layered composite novel traverses space and time, from a community being stalked by a dark presence, a group of teenagers out for a dangerous joyride, to an archeological site on a mysterious island that holds a powerful secret. Denise Halfyard was recently cast as the voiceover on the Northern BC ferries route. Passengers will hear her speaking about noteworthy points of interest along the way with an Indigenous perspective.

Ukee Sound was hired by WPTS (Wild Pacific Trail Society) to record an Indigenous voice over from a Nuu-chah-nulth member to enhance the trail experience for locals and tourists alike. Her teachings about the forest including it's Indigenous history and natural wonder will be accessed through a 'voice box', a wind up unit placed on the trail as part of a new initiative.

Brent is the Promo voice of Knowledge TV in Vancouver and just voiced the edgy promos for the KP (KnowledgeTV) original series, Search and Rescue North Shore. Knowledge Original series. It follows the heroic members of Canada's busiest volunteer search and rescue team as they set off by foot and helicopter to rescue people from the rugged wilderness of Vancouver's North Shore.

Denise was cast as the narrator for the virtual reality experience for SOI, (Students on Ice), to educate and encourage enrolment in this groundbreaking project. SOI is an educational expedition to the polar regions, and SOI has brought more than 3,200 globally diverse youth and educators there since. Through events, media and digital campaigns SOI are able to reach and influence millions more, making SOI an internationally recognized leader in experiential education and meaningful youth engagement. https://soifoundation.org/en/

Wake Me, is a musical collaboration between Marian Simmons, lyrics and vocals, and Brent Halfyard, lyrics, composition, production. This is a dark anthem of the times we live in with an element of hope and brevity in the face of adversity and oppression. Marian created the video as a support to the track which blends an angelic dreamy vocal sound with a visceral bass-line and pounding cinematic underscore.

Denise Halfyard was hired as the described video voiceover for the Warrior Spirit film. Will George was chosen to protect his Nation from the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion project. As he faces prison time in a racist legal system, he connects with his culture to heal the lands, waters, and himself.

Denise Halfyard was cast as Mika in this dark and hugely popular podcast series, The White Vault. She appeared in 8 episodes of season 6 and puts on a dramatic performance on this thrilling story. Lee Furnell, plumber by day, singer songwriter by night came to Ukee Sound looking to record his first song, Rain. It was in fact, Lee's first time in a recording studio. The song started out at over six minutes long during a live performance, the first stage of the recording process. We then listened critically and scaled the song back to just over three minutes before adding a click track for the reference tracks and the foundation tracks for the final versions. Eventually bass, percussion and layers of vocals were added and a grandiose outro with strings an piano to polish it off. We also mixed a scaled down acoustic version of one guitar and once vocal so there are two distinct versions. Rain, by Lee Furnell is now in rotation on Tuff City Radio. Way to go Lee!

Denise was cast to voice the described video for this heartfelt film. The Bathurst caribou herd have migrated Canada’s arctic since before memory. In the last 30 years their population has mysteriously dropped from 500,000 to just under 9,000. Climate change, predation, industrial development, and over hunting are all suspect, but at this time, no one knows exactly what is happening to the herd. The Tłı̨chǫ people have an intimate connection with the Bathurst. The herd has been a source of food, clothing and deep culture. However, a future without the Bathurst has become a very real possibility.

Denise was hired as the voice for the described video content for this gripping film and for the CBC series of the same name. Removed from their family home and forced into Canada’s residential school system, Cree musical prodigy Aline and her siblings are plunged into a struggle for survival. Bones of Crows is Aline's journey from child to matriarch, a moving multi-generational epic of resilience, survival and the pursuit of justice.

We we hired to produce the audiobook trailer for How To Murder A Marriage, the saucy novel by Gabrielle St. George. It was a partnership with Denise creating the visuals and video assests, while Brent creating the audio elements for a snapshot into the story for the publisher to help promotion of the audio book

Denise Halfyard was cast as the narrator for this essential book from author, Carol Anne Hilton. On the ground examples of the emerging Indigenous economy. Indigenomics calls for a new model of development, one that advances Indigenous self-determination, collective well-being, and reconciliation. This is vital reading for business leaders and entrepreneurs, Indigenous organizations and nations, governments and policymakers, and economists.

Brent wrote, performed all instruments and vocals and produced this retro Christmas song reminiscent of doo-wap groups of the 50's and 60's. Denise Halfyard produced this charming video to tell the happy story!
